SMS Reseller Solution
The Reseller Solution provides a revenue stream from the resale of SMS credits.
How it works
The Reseller Solution provides a way for BulkSMS.com clients ('the reseller') to earn additional revenue from the resale of SMS credits to their customers. A reseller buys credits in bulk from BulkSMS.com and sells them in smaller batches at BulkSMS.com or slightly lower rates.
The reseller buys credits upfront from BulkSMS.com and then collects payment from customers.
The reseller does not have to wait for commission to be paid by BulkSMS.com for credits sold, however, any payment disputes are to be resolved by reseller and their customers and not BulkSMS.com.
Example:
A reseller buys 150,000 SMS credits at 2.74p each and sells them in batches of 500 at 3.34p per credit to their customers. The reseller makes a profit of 0.6p per credit. A reseller could earn up to £900.00 per month from the resale of SMS credits.
Note: 150,000 SMS credits equal 100,000 text messages.
Reseller advantages
Customer invoiced on monthly basis - requests to load credits to a customer's account can be charged easily to the customer's monthly account if the reseller is already billing the customer on a monthly basis.
Credits do not expire - SMS credits retain their value regardless of when they are used. One SMS credit pays for one SMS sent via the BulkSMS.com gateway in South Africa.
No hidden costs - besides the purchase of SMS credits there are no other costs for using BulkSMS.com services.
Pricing - the reseller could undercut BulkSMS.com's prices by selling credits at a lower rate.
Provide added value to customers - resellers may be in a position to help the customer register, download software and/or provide basic training on using BulkSMS.com products at the customer's premises.
How to register as a reseller
To become a reseller you need to switch on the reseller feature on your BulkSMS.com account:
Step 1: Log on to your BulkSMS.com account at http://community.bulksms.co.uk/login.mc.
Step 2: On the 'My Account' page of your account, click on 'Other features' under 'Advanced Features'.
Step 3: Tick the 'Transfer Credits' box.
Step 4: Click the 'Update' button. You are now ready to resell SMS's in bulk to your customers.
How to resell SMS credits to a customer
Step 1: Ensure that your customer has a registered as a user on http://community.bulksms.co.uk.
Step 2: Log into your BulkSMS.com account at http://community.bulksms.co.uk.
Step 3: Click on 'Transfer credits' under the Commerce Centre.
Step 4: Fill in the username of the customer that you are selling credits to. (Note that a username is case sensitive).
Step 5: Fill in the user ID of the customer. (You will need to get this user ID from your customer. This ID is shown under the 'Update my profile' link on the 'My Account' page).
Step 6: Type in the number of credits to be transferred to the customer. Put in a comment. For example: 'customer name, Invoice number xyz, credits requested by Bob in accounts telephonically.' This comment will be visible to the reseller and the customer under the 'Credit history' link on the 'My Account' page.
Step 7: Click transfer. The credits are transferred immediately. The transfer is logged under 'Credit history'.
Step 9: If invoices are required by the customer, the reseller will need to generate his/her own invoices for the customer.
